Below is a list of Frequently Asked Questions about Amplify Intelligence, its access to data within Amplify, and other technical questions. Should additional questions arise, please contact Support for additional assistance.
Note that Support cannot assist with prompt construction, but can assist with access to Amplify Intelligence for an organization and with other technical issues.
- What is Amplify Intelligence?
- Amplify Intelligence is a large language model-based chatbot on the Amplify Dashboard that helps churches quickly access insights, automate tasks, and interact with their ministry data using natural language. It is an AI tool designed to help churches and ministry staff work more efficiently.
- What is a large language model?
- A large language model (LLM) is a type of technology that helps computers understand and respond to everyday language. It learns by studying large volumes of written text, enabling it to answer questions, summarize information, and carry on conversations naturally. The most advanced versions of this technology power many of today’s chat tools. Amplify Intelligence uses trusted services from Amazon's AWS, the same provider that hosts Amplify, to provide these capabilities securely within Amplify.
- To what data does the large language model have access?
- The LLM accesses a secured database layer that pulls particular data sets from the Giving platform.
- To what data does the large language model not have access?
- The LLM itself does not have access to customer data or giving data specifically. It does not have access to the Giving Database. It does not have access to PCI data, anonymous giver details, or Amplify user data. At this time, the LLM does not have access to the People module directly, only a copy of offline giving data from the People module stored in a secure layer of Giving only for queries.
- Is donor data exposed to the Internet or other Amplify users within my organization?
- No, data never leaves the Amplify system and secure information, like PCI data and anonymous givers, are never accessed by Amplify Intelligence. Amplify Intelligence only uses the data in your Amplify account to answer your questions. It only shows you the data you have access to based on your admin permissions. Nothing is shared outside your organization.
- Who within my organization has permissions to use Amplify Intelligence?
- There are multiple components to setting permissions for someone to be able to use Amplify Intelligence. First, within the Amplify Dashboard, a user must be given module access to Amplify Intelligence or universal admin privileges in order to see the interface. Secondly, within Giving Admin, a user must be granted rights in concert with the type of prompt they use. At a minimum, we would recommend users have Donors and Reports>Transactions rights within Giving Admin to ensure basic functionality. Finally, to have Amplify Intelligence assist with creating a new Express Form, a user would need General Donation>Create assigned within Giving Admin's Forms section of manager permissions.
- How does Amplify Intelligence represent or account for returns, chargebacks, declines, or refunds?
- Amplify Intelligence reflects the same financial data that exists in your Amplify Giving records. When questions are asked about giving totals, donor activity, or transaction history, the AI references the actual transaction records stored in the system.
- What data within Amplify does Amplify Intelligence have the ability to access?
- Transactions in Giving, excluding PCI data and anonymous givers' details;
- Specific Amplify user data regarding whether a user has activated their Amplify account;
- People offline giving data that has been copied by our system into a secure layer specifically for queries.
- How often does Amplify Intelligence receive updated data from connected Amplify modules?
- Currently, new Amplify Giving transactions and updates within Amplify People will be available in Amplify Intelligence after approximately 30 minutes. Please allow some time to pass before expecting recent activity to be reflected in answers provided by Amplify Intelligence.
- How should we address questions about the accuracy of the results Amplify Intelligence returns from a prompt?
- Amplify Intelligence is designed to provide quick insights by interpreting the data stored in your Amplify platform. In most cases, the answers returned will match the information available in your records. However, because the AI generates natural-language responses based on user input, the results shall be viewed as assistive insights rather than official financial reports. AI is capable of making a mistake and all information should always be verified by official statements when used in such manner.
- What technical help can Ministry Brands Support provide?
- Amplify Intelligence is a live service with daily account limits. Keep in mind that any outreach to our Support teams to recreate an issue in your specific account instead of a general, system-wide issue will result in consuming questions toward your customer account for that day.
- Support can provide assistance with assigning access to Amplify Intelligence to additional users, confirming what data can and cannot be searched using Amplify Intelligence, and troubleshooting overall Amplify Intelligence behavior.
- Support cannot provide assistance with prompt construction, verifying the accuracy of an answer provided by Amplify Intelligence, or confirming the exact number of questions that can be asked within a day or have been asked in a previous day.
